5 Questions to Ask Your Photographer First

Booking Your Senior Session: 5 Questions to Ask Your Photographer First

Your senior year is one of the most exciting chapters of your life—and your senior photos should reflect that! Whether you're planning your session months in advance or just starting to look for the right photographer, asking the right questions can make all the difference in your experience and your final images.

Here are the 5 most important questions to ask before booking your senior photographer:

1. What’s your photography style—and will it match my vision?

Every photographer has a unique style. Do you love bright, natural, glowy images? Or are you drawn to more moody or dramatic edits?
At Kaleigh Stackpole Photography, I focus on warm, natural tones that feel fun, vibrant, and true to you. My goal is to create images that are timeless, joyful, and packed with personality. Make sure the photographer’s portfolio matches the vibe you’re envisioning!

2. What’s included in your senior session experience?

A senior session isn’t just showing up and smiling for the camera—it’s a full experience. You should ask:

  • How long is the session?

  • How many outfits can I bring?

  • Do you help with location scouting or outfit styling?

I offer a full styling guide, personal consultation, access to custom packaging, and help choosing dream locations!

3. When should I book my senior session?

The best dates go fast—especially in spring and fall. I recommend booking 2–4 months in advance to secure your ideal season and avoid missing out on peak times.
Not sure when to shoot? Summer is perfect for golden light and open schedules. Fall brings cozy layers and colorful leaves. I help every client choose what works best for their vibe and availability.

4. How will I receive my photos—and how many do I get?

Every photographer delivers images differently. Make sure you ask:

  • How many images are included?

  • Are the images high-resolution and downloadable?

  • Can I order prints or albums?

With me, you’ll get a curated gallery full of beautifully edited, high-resolution images ready to download, print, and share with everyone who loves you. Each package varies the number returned images you receive, and you will gain access to designing prints and albums through the gallery.

5. What makes your senior sessions different?

This is the question that sets the tone for your experience. For me, senior photography is personal. I take time to get to know you—your interests, your style, your story—and build a session that reflects who you are, not just what you look like. This isn’t cookie-cutter—it’s custom.
